Which company should a life and health agent choose to make good money with?

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

Question by the cleaner: Which company should a life and health agent choose to make good money with?
I live in texas and licensed in both TX and CA in Life and Health. What is a good company to start selling insurance with? I don’t want the lead cost to bury me in bills and residual income from my renewals I want annually to build a good book of business. What company should I go with? Are there several good ones to choose from? I need to work now! Thank you in advance.

Do you actually have any, offering you appointments?

The company doesn’t matter so much, as long as they are A rated. NONE of them will provide you with leads, and purchased leads, IMO, are worthless.

Making good money, is more about being able to drum up leads and close the deal . . . not the company it’s with.

What health insurance company is best for a child?

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Question by EE: What health insurance company is best for a child?
I am looking for a good and reasonably priced health insurance provider for my 9 year old son. Insurance through my work is outrageous so I’m looking for an outside provider. His mother is suppose to have already put him on CHIP with the state of TX (by court order) but she refuses to do so for some reason. I hate the idea of him being without health insurance. Anyone had any good experiences with certain companies? Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What is the best and most affordable company for health coverage for young couple in California?

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

Question by sguc: What is the best and most affordable company for health coverage for young couple in California?
My company pays 100% of my health coverage but not my wife’s. Thus, we are starting to look for best health coverage for us both and my company will reimburse us for the amount they pay for me now. We are both 28 years old and healthy. We will be trying to have a baby soon so this is greatest concern.

What company is best? Blue Cross? Health Net (which is what I have now)? How much does coverage cost for both of us?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

What’s the best health insurance company not tied to a single location?

Saturday, April 16th, 2011

Question by Gorham: What’s the best health insurance company not tied to a single location?
I’m a travelling sales person with multiple mailing addresses. What location in the United States has the best health insurance rates and best health care? I’m in my mid 30′s, non-smoker, healthy.

Best answer:

Answer by StephenWeinstein
You can have a thousand mailing addresses, but a health insurance company is only allowed to sell you a policy if your one permanent, legal residence is in a state where they have a license. The best company is whichever one has a license there, because you are not allowed to use a mailing address in a state other than your state of residence to obtain insurance from a company that is not licensed where your legal residence is. If you do manage to get a policy this way, then you have given them a perfect excuse to cancel your policy whenever they want, usually right after they receive a large claim, and before they pay it. (If a policy is rescinded due to fraud, the decision is retroactive, and you are not covered for the outstanding bills, and you must repay whatever claims have already been paid.)

Can I reimburse myself health insurance costs from my company?

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Question by Jackie S: Can I reimburse myself health insurance costs from my company?
We used to have individual health insurance, and I would pay for it out of my own company (an S Corp). When we got insurance through my husband’s employer, I stopped reimbursing myself.
He is paid for by the company, and then it costs extra to add myself and our child.

I was just going to deduct health insurance premiums on our Sch A, but we don’t have enough other medical expenses to meet the limit.

Is it ligit to go ahead and reimburse myself the amount that it cost for the health insurance? Then it would be a business expense. Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by v b
No.
The insurance through your husband’s employer does not meet the test of having been established through the S-corp.
